Help For the Closet Bathroom
In most homes nowadays there are at least two bathrooms but one is usually what they called the powder room or to some the closet bathroom because of its size. These are very small and usually only contain the toilet and sink at the most.
So how do you get the most from this closet bathroom and make it look bigger than it really is? First thing you want to do is stay away from dark colors as dark colors have a tendency to make any room look smaller.
Ideally you are going to want a sink that has a cabinet with it but obviously it’s going to have to be small and compact. There are many out on the market today that fits this need. There is at least allows you room for some storage for your cosmetics such as tissue paper and towels.
If you can forfeit the storage space you might find that a pedestal sink works better for you. It helps to create the illusion that the room is bigger than what it is because of the pedestal stand.
As we said earlier colors play an important role in the size of the room. Your best bet is to go with the lighter pastel colors and even these should be on the very light side of the scale showing just a hint of color tone. If you have issues with just using paint then add a small paper border at the top of the wall to give it some creativity or some interest.
Another great idea for making your closet bathroom look a lot bigger is use a mirror as big as possible about the sink. This way you get the reflection of the room and it automatically creates the illusion that the room is much bigger than what it is.
Another thing that you are going to want to consider for this room is the lighting. You don’t want something that’s garish and go to create a glare. Quite often wall sconces will work well in this type of room.
Being as you have had to keep your paint so subtle you can add your color with your accessories. Go with bright and bold towels that are patterned and work with the colors of your wall. You’re going to find that this is probably all you’re going to need to give your closet bathroom the uplift that you are looking for.
