What You Should Look For In A Bathroom Tile Design

Many people do not think through the design principles behind which kind of bathroom tiles they want, resulting in a bathroom that is too stark and cold or too floral and soft.Consider the design impact of your colour and type of tiles when you choose them.

If any room needs tiles, it's usually the bathroom.Tiles add to a bathroom's finish, giving it the final touch of style.Otherwise you could use water resistant wallpaper, but this doesn't last too long and needs to be replaced.  Or you could choose specialist bathroom paint, which is fine if your walls are perfectly smooth. If not you will need to sand down and reapply fresh plaster. But for non-smooth walls, tiles are a good choice.

But when choosing tiles for your bathroom you need to choose specialist ceramic bathroom tiles. They can cope with the heat and wet of a bathroom, which produce frequent steam and humidity.

You can save money on cheap standard tiles, but cutting corners in this way can cost you dear if they don't last.

Colours are also something you need to keep in mind.A minimalist bathroom often comes with sleek surfaces, sharp colours and very often white bathroom tiles. But when you take a second look, they can appear harsh. To break up the white block of colour, try using a white tile with a coloured insert, for example black, grey or silver.

Some bathroom tile designs can be fairly rustic or flowery. These may suit you down to the ground, but if you plan on selling it's best to be more conservative.Floral or chintz designs won't appeal to everyone.

Colours should not be too strong.A black or red bathroom might be what floats your boat, but it might be hideous to a prospective buyer.Even if not intending to sell, vibrant colours can wear off after a while, so be careful.

To choose the right tiles, keep a check on your wilder style choices, and you'll have a bathroom that's elegant and stylish but also timeless.
